Safety Management System (SMS)
The Safety Management System (SMS) is the cornerstone of the organisation’s approach to health and safety management. It provides staff with policies, procedures and risk assessments to ensure staff have the correct information and instructions to discharge their duties safety and meet the relevant statutory requirements. The working version of the SMS is accessed internally on FSS’ SharePoint. A full management system review was undertaken to update document hyperlinks with 97% of this work being completed. Post incident any related management system documents are reviewed. The SMS was also subject to review as part of the Scottish Government’s Directorate for Internal Audit and Assurance audit.
