Veterinary training to conduct Ante-Mortem Inspection for Emergency Slaughter outside the slaughterhouse

Summary

Veterinarians interested in undertaking training on  ante-mortem inspection (AMI) outside the slaughterhouse for emergency slaughter must be members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The purpose of this training is to provide veterinarians conducting Emergency Slaughter outside the slaughterhouse (EMSL) with adequate knowledge on animal health and welfare and public health matters, including legislative requirements specific to this task.

Once the training has been completed, veterinarians must sit and pass the online test which consists of 54 multiple choice questions.
