I need to download the monthly historical approved food establishments data between January 2018 and January 2023 for academic research but the data portal only shows the latest one (April 2023). I can see the data is updated monthly so I was wondering whether you can share with me the following monthly list:
- January 2019
- January 2020
- January 2021
- January 2022
- January 2023
Response
Food Standards Scotland (FSS) publishes the data for Approved Establishments on the FSS website and the Open Data Portal of FSS. Please find below the relevant links:

The above links hold the same information but in different format.
The Open Data list is updated once every month and this list is overwritten so FSS does not hold historical data. In FSS we keep copies of the Approved Establishments Register but started doing this in 2022 so we could only provide copies for January 2022 and January 2023. You can find attached these lists that hold the FSS and Local Authority Approved Establishments.
