FSS Board Meeting - 20 March

The next Board meeting will be held at our Food Standards Scotland offices in Aberdeen, Pilgrim House, Old Ford Road, Aberdeen, AB11 5RL on 20th March 2019. The meeting will begin at 10.30 am and run until approximately 12 pm.

New guidance and tools for withdrawing or recalling unsafe food

When food placed on the market is considered to be unsafe or incorrectly labelled, it is the food business’s responsibility to withdraw or recall the product. Our new UK guidance, developed in partnership with stakeholders and the FSA, has been designed to help food businesses carry out food safety withdrawals and recalls more effectively.

Statement from Food Standards Scotland, the Scottish Food Enforcement Liaison Committee & the Specialist Cheesemaker’s Association on Guidance on the production of cheese made from unpasteurised milk

Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and the Scottish Food Enforcement Liaison Committee (SFELC) met with the Specialist Cheesemaker’s Association (SCA) recently (6 March 2019) to discuss the concerns raised by some of the SCA’s members regarding guidance for Environmental Health Officers on the production of cheese made from raw (unpasteurised) milk in Scotland.
