Healthy Eating Tutorial

Welcome to our online healthy eating tutorial.

Our Healthy Eating Tutorial is a helpful tool for those who are looking for an introduction to nutrition and who may be required to provide healthy eating messages to others as part of their job. This could include those working in health and social care, education, community groups, local authorities, retail, catering and/or food manufacturing. This tutorial may also be of interest to consumers who want to learn more about healthy eating.

The tutorial has been developed by Food Standards Scotland in collaboration with Public Health Scotland.

How does it work?

By the end of this tutorial, you will know what a healthy diet looks like, why it is important and what advice and support is available to achieve it. There is an optional assessment module at the end of the tutorial. Completion of this tutorial carries a maximum of 1.5 hours Continual Professional Development (CPD) for the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) CPD scheme.

The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) is an awarding body for qualifications in Food Hygiene, Food and Health and other short courses.  For more information about REHIS qualifications click here.

  • The tutorial contains three 30-minute modules.
  • A score of 80% or more in the optional final assessment will receive a certificate for up to a maximum of 1.5 CPD hours.

You can work through the modules and assessment when it suits you. Your progress can be saved at any point.
