Safe summer eating at Taste of Grampian

Consumers attending Taste of Grampian this weekend visited our indoor and outdoor stands to learn about food safety and healthy eating.  Young and old took up the hand washing challenge under ultraviolet light to check where bugs can lurk unseen and got some football tips from Aberdeen Football Club coaches on how to kick germs to the back of the net.

Four eateries and a pre-school in Aberdeenshire were also awarded an Eatsafe award for their high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.

The successful businesses receiving the awards were:

  • Sinclair’s Bistro, Inverurie
  • Season’s Café, Aberdeen
  • Cherry Tree Pre-School, Aberdeen
  • Bistro Deans of Huntly Ltd, Huntly
  • Forbes Raeburn Butcher, Huntly

The award scheme not only helps drive up the standards of local eateries but also provides an added level of confidence to customers who increasingly look out for hygiene ratings.
