Meat preparations SUPPLIED by HS GLASGOW FOODS LTD THAT WERE NOT PRODUCED IN AN APPROVED ESTABLISHMENT

Heads of Environmental Health Services should be aware that HS Glasgow Foods Ltd, Unit 2 11, Keppochhill Place, Glasgow, G21 1HS has been operating without Local Authority approval and has produced Chicken Pakora, Vegetable Pakora and Pakora Sauce (there may be other products, however these products are the ones the   FBO was known to want to produce. Chicken Pakora has been found in a premises).

It is believed that customers are chip shops and takeaways throughout the central belt of Scotland, including Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh, Lothians. FBO has denied supply but evidence has been obtained to contradict this.

If you have bought this product, do not consume it. 

Actions (to be) taken by enforcement authorities:

Products of this type require to be produced in establishments approved under Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004.  These products were not produced in an approved establishment and are considered to be unsafe for the purposes of Article 14 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002. 

Despite investigations by the enforcement authority, it has not been possible to contact or to gain access to the premises in order to obtain the full distribution details or product traceability records for the products.

Local Authorities are requested to identify food businesses which are likely or known to stock products subject to this FAFA and to take steps to ensure they are withdrawn from sale.  Local authorities should ensure that this withdrawal is effective and that the products to which it applies are not placed on the market, if necessary using powers available to them under the Food Safety Act 1990, the General Food Regulations 2004, and the Food Hygiene (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
