Small Producers & Direct Supply - Food Hygiene Regulations

1 documents for this subject

Summary

This document has been created to assist small scale producers, such as farmers, crofters, and small businesses, in understanding the food law and food hygiene requirements which apply in these circumstances. Small suppliers will primarily supply food direct to the final consumer or to local businesses, such as shops and restaurants.

The food hygiene regulations outlined in the document are applicable to the production and supply of all food in Scotland - however, there are various exemptions which may apply to small producers directly supplying final consumers. The guidance is designed to assist small producers in determining which requirements and exemptions may apply to them.
