Working with committees
The work of the independent committees and working groups, in the UK and internationally, helps ensure that the Food Standards Scotland’s advice to consumers, business and local authorities is always based on the best scientific evidence.
Food Standards Scotland has observer status on a large number of UK scientific advisory committees. Our role with these committees is largely covered by our agreements with the Food Standards Agency
Food Standards Scotland has a similar relationship with the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition, which is supported by Public Health England.
