There’s a whole world of online help out there to make changing your snacking habits for the better much easier – from ideas and inspiration for things to eat to snack-tracking apps.

Eat Better Feel Better have some tasty, simple, snacking recipes for you to try. Why not get the kids involved in preparing some of the recipes - sweets, crisps and chocolate are not half as much fun as spending time with you!

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you can download the free NHS BMI healthy weight calculator and tracker from the iTunes App Store. The NHS BMI healthy weight calculator and tracker makes it easy to track weight loss and BMI over time for all of the family. If you don't have an iPhone you can use the BMI calculator on any device.

Head over to Public Health England Sugar Smart campaign's website to find out all you need to know about sugar and download the Sugar Smart app. This clever app lets you scan the barcodes of your favourite foods and drinks - you might be surprised at how much sugar they contain!

Eating more healthily doesn't need to be expensive, and Eat Better Feel Better can help you to feed your family tasty, nutritious meals on a budget. Check out their recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner - all healthy and super tasty!

Health Scotland have produced the booklet 'Setting the Table' to give early years practioners the knowledge and tools they need to support the development of positive food habits from a very early age.

The Scottish Government's website Play, Talk, Read is full of ways to entertain and reward children - without the need for unhealthy snacks!

Health Scotland have produced a number of resources for health professionals to help promote amongst parents how important a healthy weight is to a child's development. They've also made some handy booklets for parents too which you can download over on their website.

There are lots of different types of calorie tracker apps and devices available to download online and buy. Some differ in the way the work, but all help you track the calories you take in through food and drink, and the calories you use up through activity and exercise. Have a search online and see what will suit you best.
