New premises for Food Standards Agency in Scotland

Maureen Watt, MSP Minister for Public Health, opened the door to local stakeholders, the media, FSAS staff and the new FSS board members on 20 February, with an official unveiling of a commemorative plaque. The Minister and Ross Finnie, Chair of FSS believe this purpose-built, modern building is fitting for the forward-thinking, dynamic organisation they aim for Food Standards Scotland to be.

This is an exciting time for the FSA and the new FSS, and it is going to be a very interesting first few years as we learn to work together in a different but no-less collaborative and fruitful way, and we are committed to continuing to share plans, insight and learnings to help us achieve our joint aims going forward.

Geoff Ogle, FSA Director and soon-to-be Chief Executive of the new FSS, took the opportunity to publicly thank all of the staff for their hard work and resilience over the years, and in particular thanked the facilities management team Garry Mournian, Tracey Thomas, Tigan Daspan and Susan Atkinson for their dedication and commitment in ensuring the new offices were ready on time.
