Food Standards Scotland issues an updated Food Alert for Action (FAFA) for Eat & Go Co., Ltd.

Following the Eat & Go., Ltd. Food Alert for Action (FAFA) issued on 13 December 2016, Food Standards Scotland has today (26 May 2017) issued a FAFA confirming that Fife Council has lifted the Remedial Action Notice (RAN) which was placed on the company, restricting the shelf life of a number of pre-packed products.

Eat & Go Co. Ltd., Unit 1 Midfield Road, Mitchelston Industrial Estate, Kirkcaldy, Fife, KY1 3NL undertook a voluntary product recall on 10 December 2016 following inspection by the local authority, where it was discovered that the shelf life for a number of products was being extended.

A RAN was served on the company to restrict the shelf life of the products. This FAFA was in response to products distributed and remaining in the marketplace with an un-validated shelf life of up to eight days.

It is planned that products bearing similar packaging and labelling will be back in retail circulation over the coming weeks. It has been confirmed by the local authority that the Food Business Operator will ensure the following:
