The next Food Standards Scotland Board meeting on 18 November 2020 will be held via video conference.

Food Standards Scotland has published new plans for its Diet and Nutrition vision for the next five years, to support the strategic ambition for Scotland to have healthier diets.

Food Standards Scotland’s updated Situation Report – The Scottish Diet: It Needs to Change 2020 highlights the ongoing challenge for people in Scotland to have a healthier diet, including new exploration of the out of home environment, such as food bought ‘on the go’, and from deliveries and takeaways.

At today’s Board Meeting (Wednesday 21 October 2020) Food Standards Scotland (FSS) Chair, Ross Finnie, paid tribute to colleague and FSS non-executive director, George Brechin OBE, who died last Saturday morning after a short illness.

Food Standards Scotland (FSS); the organisation charged with protecting Scotland’s food safety and standards has today (Monday 19 October) opened a public consultation on its proposals for its new strategy for 2021-26.
